Type 70.51 control relay with NFC

The Finder 70 Series product range has been expanded with the addition of a NFC-programmable version of the Type 70.51 current control relay.

The Finder 70 Series product range has been expanded with the addition of a NFC-programmable version of the Type 70.51 current control relay.

Designed for monitoring current within industrial plant and factories, the Type 70.51 relay with NFC technology extends the existing wide range of Finder relays addressing the needs for consistent and precise control of voltage and current, for thermal protection and for monitoring or regulating liquid levels within a wide range of industrial applications.

NFC TECHNOLOGY, WHAT IS IT?

NFC technology (Near Field Communication or proximity communication) allows two-way transmission of data between two devices without any need for wiring between devices. NFC is a short-range transceiver technology, i.e. up to a maximum of 10 centimetres. Developed in 1983, today it finds application in multiple data transfer devices such as PCs, smartphones, cameras, electronic ticketing systems, counterfeiting systems, etc.

Specifically, the passage of data between one device and another takes place via a peer-to-peer network between the two, facilitating information being sent and received.

This class of technology operates at a frequency of 13.56 MHz and can achieve maximum peak tranmission speeds of 424 kbit/s.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TYPE 70.51 RELAY WITH NFC TECHNOLOGY

The 70.51 current control relay with NFC technology has the same functions as the standard 70.51, where device functions and values can be easily adjusted by the trimmers on the front panel. However, unlike the standard version; through the implementation of NFC technology all the relay configurations become programmable directly from a smartphone using a dedicated app – allowing you to read, modify or load previously set configurations or program new ones – all in just a few seconds.

Using the app, it is possible for example, to set the Overcurrent with tripping memory function (OCm), set the various parameters and within a few seconds, send this to the current control relay.

Programmable functions via app include:

  • (OC) Overcurrent
  • (UC) Undercurrent
  • (UCm) Undercurrent with trip memory
  • (W) Window mode (control within limits of minimum threshold and maximum threshold)
  • (Wm) Window mode with intervention memory
