Representing a complete range of fully flexible, programmable logic relays (PLRs), Finder introduces its new 8A Series OPTA. A world leader in electrical component design and manufacturing, Finder has partnered with Arduino Pro to leverage its signature open-source, easy-to-use platform to create a truly one-of-a-kind device—perfect for creating simple applications for the industrial automation, OEM and building automation sectors.
Designed with ease of implementation in mind, the OPTA helps reduce programming times. Application possibilities are virtually endless thanks to the device’s power, connectivity options and Arduino’s huge, easy-to-use, library of sketches/programs. Users can easily integrate OPTA into an existing project, simply enhancing the machine’s functionality by adding a remote connection (using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi).
Programmable with both traditional licensed languages (Ladder, FBD and others) as well as with an innovative, free, and open-source language (IDE/ARDUINO), the widely known Arduino sketch programming experience offers an integrated optional suite of standard IEC 61131-3 PLC languages, such as LADDER, FBD, etc.
OPTA is powered by ST’s new STM32H747XI dual-core Cortex®-M7+M4 MCU which enables the PLR to perform real-time operations as well as predictive maintenance functionalities. It is ready for the future, as it supports OTA (over the air) firmware updates while ensuring data security from the hardware to the Cloud, thanks to the onboard secure element and X.509 Standard compliance.
Finder OPTA is available in three versions:
All three variants have a 12-24 V DC supply, 8 inputs, both digital & analog (0-10V), as well as 4 relay outputs with NO 10 A contacts, USB (type C) for programming and data logging and RJ45 for Ethernet or Modbus TCP/IP connections.
The OPTA programmable logic relay can be used with existing Finder devices. Energy meters, contactors, switch mode power supplies, relays and many other devices can be connected to OPTA, keeping everything under control locally via HMI or remotely thanks to real-time dashboards, which can be created with the intuitive Arduino Cloud (or third-party services).
OPTA expands Finder’s innovative range of quality switching technology, enhancing its expertise in designing and manufacturing programmable logic relays (PLRs), continuing the brand’s 70-year history of innovation and quality in switching technology. It is made in Italy by Finder, is UL approved, CE and UKCA certified, and designed for industrial grade applications.
