A family-owned company and proudly independent, Finder has built its reputation as a global player in the development, production and distribution of a wide range of devices for the industrial, and the residential and commercial sectors.
Independence and financial stability, management continuity, ethics, and respect for people and the environment are values that form the basis of Finder’s corporate culture.
Since it was founded over 65 years ago, Finder has always believed in sustainability as a fundamental principle of doing business. From the design and development of products to the manufacturing process; from the sourcing of raw materials to the establishment of sound commercial policies; and from the management of its company vehicle fleet to the preservation of natural resources, the safeguarding of the environment and the reduction of the impact of climate change have been fundamental objectives of the company’s activities.
Our concept of sustainability is based on a holistic approach: In addition to economic efficiency and respect for the environment, we consider the care of our personnel, in terms of health and safety, job satisfaction and professional development as the bedrock of our company culture.
To support our future generations in having a tomorrow worth living, Finder has established a detailed and effective environmental and energy policy, setting targets for constant improvement, investing in low environmental impact technologies and monitoring specific indicators such as the company’s carbon footprint.
The ‘EU GREEN DEAL’ long-term strategy marks the EU as the first economy in the world to commit to being climate-neutral, with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, by 2050. The objective and long-term strategy has been signed by all 27 EU member states, underlining their collective commitment.
This project poses a challenge for all sectors of the EU economy: To reach its 2030 target plan of a cut in greenhouse gas emissions of at least 55% (compared to 1990 levels) in a fair, cost-effective and competitive way.
Finder has already risen to the challenge. For years it has been actively committed to sustainability in a number of diverse areas:
In 2021 Finder attained ISO 14064 certification for its two Italian production facilities, located in Almese and Sanfront. The company is among the first in the electronic and electromechanical device manufacturing sector to be ISO 14064 certified in Italy.
The ISO 14064 certification process focuses on monitoring, reporting and quantifying greenhouse gas emissions, leading to a verification of the company’s carbon footprint. The ultimate goal is to map all of the company’s relevant processes, from the extraction of raw materials to the fuel used by its employees for their travel. This is done via a systematic and scientific assessment that has allowed Finder to quantify its actual ecological footprint. The verification process was conducted by TÜV, an authoritative and well-respected technical inspection association, which issued the certificate in October 2021.
The certification is therefore a further concrete step along the path towards reducing emissions, as well as a demonstration of excellence that will urge the company to continue to anticipate and be involved in the regulatory evolution of this crucial sector – a sector that presents opportunities and advantages for those companies that are able to demonstrate a reduced impact on the environment through objective criteria and quantifiable results.
