Following the introduction of expansion modules, Finder’s catalogue dedicated to the OPTA smart relay expands further with the launch of OPTA Codesys®, an 8A Series product based on the world’s first independent development environment for PLCs, designed for programming according to the international industry standard IEC 61131-3.
Compliance with this international standard makes Codesys® (Controlled Development System) a very popular software development environment in the world of industrial automation, as it can be used on a wide range of PLCs on which, in addition to programming, it offers tools for simulation, hardware configuration, visualisation and project management.
The implementation of this environment makes OPTA a programmable device with languages such as IL, ST, LD, FBD, SFC, thus a PLR with a high level of interoperability and, in fact, unique on the market.
The new OPTA – premiered in Nuremberg during the last SPS and which will be available in the catalogue during 2025 – will feature 8 analogue or digital inputs, 4 10A relay outputs and USB Type C connectivity, RJ45 port, RS485 port and internal Wi-Fi module. The range will also include three expansion modules dedicated specifically to the Codesys® environment.
This new product will complement the three existing models created in collaboration with Arduino PRO:
