The Christmas tradition brings an opportunity for sharing, supporting the community and helping others. In line with its company values, Finder will be making its annual donation, to scientific research aimed at families with children suffering from rare diseases.
The Telethon Foundation is a non-profit organization that since 1990 has financed and supported over 2,700 research projects relating to rare genetic diseases, offering hope and providing support to those who are often overlooked due to the small number of cases.
Its mission to treat people affected by rare genetic conditions is demonstrated by a long list of services and activities, including research, clinical trials, diagnosis and treatment, support for both patients and research, specialized commissions and research funding calls.
For a number of years Finder has made an annual donation to a project that reflect its corporate values and that helps the wider community.
In the summer Finder met personnel from the Telethon Rare Diseases and COVID-19 Special Grant initiative, set up to respond to the emergency that has been affecting the whole world over the past 12 months.
In line with the Telethon Foundation’s mission, this opportunity for funding will be dedicated to research projects that consider rare genetic diseases as a tool to advance knowledge of the pathology due to SARS-CoV2 infection.
Research of this kind is essential for the advancement of medical science and society as a whole – but beyond this, according to the aims of the Telethon Association, its work doesn’t stop at successful results, but becomes a reality for each and every patient.
Finder wholeheartedly supports this initiative and is pleased to share details of the project with you as part of its 2020 Christmas card greeting. A wish that will help keep hope alive for the new year, and a wish for all to be serene, secure and safe.
