The new version features dynamic dimming, logic ports and the option of HVAC management.
The new and updated Type 18.5K.9.030.0001 movement detector is a recent addition to Finder’s range of KNX products. Particularly suitable for indoor installation, this device allows for the control and adjustment of lights according to the brightness in the room and/or the movement detected.
Within a home automation system, a sensor such as the Type 18.5K PRO sends commands, controls or adjustments to be carried out on other devices installed within the system. Once movement has been detected, this type of detector carries out an encoding, through the creation of a data telegram, which will then be sent via the bus.
The new Type 18.5K PRO is powered by KNX BUS, the standard that allows the creation of flexible and energy-efficient systems.
In addition to its 64 sqm area of detection (8×8 m movement, 4×4 m presence) and its ceiling or false-ceiling mounting, the Type 18.5K PRO has several new features:
The term ‘home automation’ refers to the automation within a single living unit; while ‘building automation’ refers to the automation within a larger building, and hence typically requires a higher level of system complexity. KNX can be applied to both of these. It is therefore the type of application that will determine whether it’s ‘home automation’ or ‘building automation’ and not the use of KNX technology itself.
The creation of a KNX installation can bring various advantages:
